The Detroit Jazz Festival has been showcasing World-Class Jazz since 1980. It is now the largest, free jazz festival in the world.
Lars Bjorn and Jim Gallert have been honored to host the Jazz Talk Tent since its birth in 1994. We thank the late Gretchen Valade, our East-side Jazz Angel, for rescuing our festival and setting it on an upward trajectory, Chris Collins, Artistic Director and President of the DJFF, for his audacious programming, and Mack Avenue Records for sponsoring us.
